David Collins was convicted of the murder of Kevin Bishop 32.
He had previously been convicted of the culpable homicide of his father, who was also called David Collins.
He murdered Kevin Bishop at his home in July 2018 he attacked him with a machette and then beheaded him and dumped his remains in a wheelie bin.
He was sentenced to 26 years for the murder but appealed and had his sentence reduced to 22 years.
David Collins had ealier killed his father, David Collins, with a sword and was convicted of culpable homicide.
